Wark Bridge Repairs

DMJ Engineering Ltd successfully completed PHASE 1 of Wark bridge renewal and renovation. The contract involved the repair of the main steel splice girders, replacing the transverse beams, and the installation of new Specialist SPS plates.

All of the new deck steel was fabricated using Corten B steel to strict contract specification and requirements of EN 1090-2 Execution Class 3 also all material supplied had to be fully traceable with ISO 10204, Type 3.1 certification.

The bridge is a Department of Transport plate Girder Bridge erected in the 1880’s with a lattice parapet. The bridge had fallen into serious disrepair over the years, to almost the point of failure.
